In collaboration with Woodpecker Court, pupils from Columbia class (Year 3 and Year 4), spent Friday afternoon’s of Term One learning about farm animals and poultry. During these weekly sessions on the farm, practical activities are combined with classroom based learning to explore the animal husbandry and food production. In the first seven weeks of this new initiative, children discovered animals flight zones, were introduced to feeding routines and assisted with egg collection.

They have also thoroughly enjoyed meeting baby goats, herding the sheep and stroking the pigs! It certainly is a highlight of the week for the pupils involved.
